部隊 × conquest
battling your way to the top is what we're all about at echelon. and to do that, you must be recruited by a kingdom's mercenary. find out all about that here, but what this thread is about is the rules of engagement.
there are three kinds of battles here: mod, warrior vs. warrior, and army vs. army. mods are straight forward - you run into a wild pokemon, and you overtake it to either gain yourself a stronger link with your partner, or to capture it. warrior vs. warrior battles are also straight forward - recruitment, or strengthening links. as far as recruitment goes, the loser has the option of joining your kingdom or not (to be fair). but army vs. army will only come around during events, which you'll be able to find in the announcements section.
taking over other kingdoms can only be done through wars waged between the armies - the winner will come out on top, claiming victory, and thusly, your kingdom. every army must be made up of at least three trainers, with their team of only six pokemon. no kingdom wants to be suppressed by the other, so even if one does gain more control than the others, well ...i think we all know what would happen: revolution! and, you know, more war.
there will be two types of battling here, however: one, straightforward role playing. no stats. you simply play out the battle in a fair way. so, no, your level 5 pidgey will undoubtedly lose against a level 7 shinx, so do not be a sore loser! the other way of battling is by stats, where hp, attack, defense, and so on will be taken into an account. a mod will have to help you out here, though, so in your thread title, please specify which type of battle it is as the following: threadnamehere [ play ], or threadnamehere [ stat ].
for every battle won, your pokemon will gain two levels (this pertains to mod battles, or warrior battles). for every army battle, your pokemon will gain five.
